Make Your Future | 9th July – 3rd August

We are delighted to host Make your Future, a showcase of jewellery and metalwork from students and teachers at Birmingham schools, in collaboration with the Crafts Council and School of Jewellery, Birmingham City University.

Make Your Future is a hands-on education programme connecting traditional craft with digital technologies to ignite a passion for craft in young people. Through supporting teachers, making use of local craft skills and creating opportunities for work and study in craft, it pioneers an approach that strengthens the position of making skills as a cross-curricular bridge between art and science.

Participating schools: Queensbridge School, Bartley Green School, Selly Park Technology College for Girls, Lindsworth School, Turves Green Girls’ School and Technology College, Hall Green School, Kings Norton Girls school, Hodge Hill Girls’ School

Participating maker/educators: Samantha Chilton, Sophie Huckfield, Vanessa Miller, Theresa Nguyen.

With grateful thanks to the Comino Foundation, the Ernest Cook Trust, and The D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust for their support of Make Your Future in the West Midlands
