With twenty years’ experience working in museums and ten of those as senior manager for the largest regional museums service in England, Toby has considerable experience in leading innovative and award-winning collections, learning and exhibition programmes that engage large and diverse audiences with heritage and culture. His expertise lies with the effective management, development and display of diverse collections spanning art, history and science, coupled with project management experience in leading major heritage projects of up to £9m in size. As Director of Collections, Toby is responsible for the overall management and development of Birmingham Museums’ collection, the most important civic museum collection in England

17 years’ experience in the cultural sector, ten of which involved the design and delivery of higher education programmes for Coventry, Leeds and Loughborough Universities. Andrew has extensive experience in leading engagement programmes, developing digital learning and relationship management with educational sector professionals to support sustainability of innovative world class learning programmes. Andrew’s expertise lies within building organisational capacity to deliver high quality formal and informal engagement for the museums service alongside the strategic development of partnerships to increase diversity in museum participation. As Learning and Access Manager Andrew is responsible for the effective management and development of schools, community and volunteer engagement teams across Birmingham Museums Trust.
Collections Strand Link Tutor for Birmingham Museums Trust.
Over the last 23 years Jane has worked as both an object and preventive conservator in the regional and volunteer museum sectors. She is an accredited conservator and chairs the Institute of Conservation’s Care of Collections group. She is a very experienced trainer, having co-devised and led the RAW training programme, covering all aspects of collection care, for the West Midlands and nationally. As conservation team leader she is responsible for the day to day management of Birmingham Museums Trust’s conservation team, leads on Integrated Pest Management, Emergency Planning and Environmental Sustainability and also works to support the operation of the Museum Collections Centre.

Rachel West has worked in museum sector since 2002. She has worked at all of the Heritage Sites within Birmingham Museums Trust in a variety of engagement and managerial roles. She is currently the Museum Team Manager at the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter.
