Hello and welcome to the blog for MA Innovation and Leadership in Museum Practice. My name is Beth and I am the Course Director. You will find on here messages from the tutors on the course and links to items and articles that we think are current and hopefully of interest to you. The course will run from September this year and once it is up and running the students and myself will be posting images and updates of our weekly activity. We are very excited to hear from you so please send in your comments and we ask that when titling your entry you pick a song or literature title or quotes to bring music and words to our eyes and ears….
We have been working hard over the last year to put together this exciting new course and are really looking forward to welcoming our new students. This is a great opportunity to be part of something really innovative. We have been planning academic sessions at the School of Art that are followed up by unparalleled onsite access into the heart of the museums function, collections and archives not to mention the many wonderful experts that you will be meeting along the way.
I thought it might be helpful to introduce myself. For the last 20 years I have worked as an artist curator and academic. I strive through my own practice and research to work in innovative ways in the public realm delivering a wide range of public art projects internationally working with people from deaf communities, military planners, refugees and veteran groups. The projects encompass multiple partnerships seeking to cross industry sectors to bring together many voices. Themes have been silence in society, conflict and collective memory, nationality and identity and examples of previous projects can be found at
