Last month we were delighted to welcome our former student Emma J Shipley, back to the School of Fashion and Textiles to talk to us about her impressive and inspirational career achievements to-date since graduating from BCU in Textile Design.
An incredibly talented, award-winning textile designer and graphic artist, specialising in fine drawing, luxury scarves and cushions, Emma was keen to share her experiences with our current students to offer lots of insight, tips and advice on the road to achieving success.
“I’ve never seen the lecture theatre so full!”
Emma’s presentation was truly inspirational, covering an array of topics from interning as a student at Burberry and Harrods and advice on making the most of your degree (especially final year projects), to collaborating with Disney, Camira Fabrics and Swarovski.
She also described how she gained an impressive high end stockists list including, Fortnum and Mason, Liberty and Browns.
