This week we’re finding out…

Q. How do I access the library catalogue from home?

A. Easy-peasy! Follow the steps below to access all of our resources, including the library catalogue.

1. Log into your iCity homepage.

2. Find the red library tile, and expand it using the little arrows in the corner. Click the “links” tab.

3. Click on “Find Resources”.

4. On the “Find Resources” page you will find links to the library catalogue, Summon, the A-Z of Resources (alphabetical list of databases) and more! Logging into iCity allows you to access the electronic resources available.

New features in the library catalogue

We’ve made some changes to the library catalogue:

1. Clustering

Different editions of the same book are now grouped together, with the most recent edition usually appearing as the main entry. At the moment, there are still separate entries for different formats (i.e. books, ebooks, DVDs) but we hope to get these grouped together soon.

2. Journal holdings

You will now be able to see additional details for print holdings of journals, including volume and issue number. Select the year, and see the most recent issue at the top of the list.

3. Book previews

If a Google book preview is available, these will be shown on the library catalogue entry, containing a small selection of pages.

We hope you find these changes useful. Any comments? Email
