Right in time for the new academic year Westlaw UK is getting a new look. From Monday 5th August 2019 the current Westlaw UK site will no longer be available with the upgraded Westlaw UK site becoming our exclusive source of access. The upgrade will align the appearance of Westlaw UK with some of Thomson Reuters other services. For some time now when accessing International or European Union materials from the current Westlaw UK you will have been redirected to the new site.

You will still be able to search and browse for legal information on the upgraded Westlaw UK from the following types of content:
- Current awareness
International and European Union materials will be accessed via links from the upgraded Westlaw UK and will open in a new web browser window. For options to access US and other International materials click on the Region drop down menu. To access the European Union materials click on the link for More followed by European Union:
Users of the current Westlaw UK will have been used to an IDS Employment Law area, on the upgraded Westlaw UK this content is now incorporated into the Employment and Work topic. A full list of topics is available to browse from the homepage. For quick access to the topic pages you visit on a regular basis bookmark them to your list of Favourites.
Favourites are just one of the many features on the upgraded Westlaw UK which allow you to personalise your search experience. In addition to bookmarking Favourites, you can:
- View your search history
- Highlight content
- Make notes
If you highlight content or make notes, as with the current Westlaw UK you can save and share this content. Folders and Alerts are features available on both the current and upgraded Westlaw UK. However if you have made use of the Folders and Alerts on the current site please export the contents and record the details as they will not be migrated over to the new site.
