The idea of a contested territory forms the conceptual underpinning of current work, a comparison is drawn between the nation state and a state of mind. This recent work is an interrogation of perspective, and an expansion of the territories of two and three dimensions. It operates in the spaces between the disciplines of photography, printmaking and sculpture.
Darren’s work can be seen at PULPA III, a collaborative exhibition showing practice-led BA/MA/PhD students and invited artists and staff studying at Birmingham School of Art in R.K. Burt Gallery, London. 6-14th April 17
