New Art West Midlands – 2017

New Art West Midlands 2017 is the region’s showcase for exciting new work and includes painting, sculpture, photography, film, video, print and installation.

The annual exhibition provides a new and vital platform to show the work of emerging artists who have graduated from the region’s five university art schools- Birmingham City University, Coventry University, Staffordshire University, University of Wolverhampton, University of Worcester- and for the first time Hereford College of Arts.

This year’s exhibition is selected by artists Jason E. Bowman and Barbara Walker and the independent curator Angela Kingston. The work in the exhibition references various themes including new materialism, environmental politics, use of saturated colour and neo- surrealism.

The New Art West Midlands 2017 exhibitions will  take place at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Mac GalleryWolverhampton Art Gallery and Worcester City Art Gallery and Museums.
